Dr. James Van Horne to retire

Dr. James Van Horne

After 25 years and over 10,000 hip and knee replacements, I have decided to retire effective February 24, 2023.
I want to thank all my patients for being my partners in their care. Without your participation in preparation and recovery, my dreams could never have been realized. I wanted high patient satisfaction, extremely low complication levels, nearly narcotic-free surgical recovery, and almost 100% of patients to go home safely and comfortably the day of surgery. You helped me achieve it!

I promised many of you advanced notice of my retirement allowing you to schedule additional joint replacements. Here it is. I plan to stop performing surgery on December 24, 2022.

Finally, I am excited to announce the next generation of robotic-assisted knee replacement, the DePuy Velys, here at the Grants Pass Ambulatory Surgery Center (DePuy Velys Knee and click on the “For Patients”). Because of my extensive involvement in educating orthopedic surgeons, we are the first surgery center west of the Mississippi to offer this amazing advancement.
